    1 Unpack the I25

    Your I25 is supplied with:

    • The Chromecast built-in Quick Start Guide
    • Mains cable
    • IR cable
    • Trigger cable
    • Antennas for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
    • C25 remote control with batteries
    • AC Polarity Pen

    If any of these items are missing please contact your supplier. We recommend you retain the packaging in case you need to transport the unit at a later date.

    Note that the I25 is supplied with a protective film on the display glass. Remove the film for a clearer whiter display.

    2 Connect speakers

    The I25 is designed to be connected directly to a pair of loudspeakers.

    • Connect the red wire from each speaker to the red terminal marked + and the black wire from each speaker to the black terminal marked –. 

    The terminals can accept speaker cables terminated with spade terminals, banana plugs, or bare wires.

    To connect bare wires unscrew the terminal, pass the bare wire through the hole in the terminal bolt, and clamp the wire in place by screwing the terminal back down hand tight.

    Analogue outputs

    The I25 provides fixed-level and variable-level analogue outputs on the LINE and PRE outputs on RCA connectors, to allow you to connect to active speakers or an analogue recorder.

    Digital output

    The I25 also provides a coax digital output on an RCA connector.

    3 Connect inputs

    You can connect up to five analogue sources and up to six digital sources to the inputs on the back panel.

    Analogue inputs

    • Connect analogue sources, such as the Primare CD35 CD player, to inputs A1 to A5 using high quality RCA cables.

    Digital inputs

    • Connect digital optical sources to the digital optical inputs D6 to D9 using optical cables.
    • Connect digital coax sources to the digital coax inputs D10 and D11 using digital RCA cables.

    You can also connect a USB flash drive to the USB-A input, and a PC or Mac to the USB-B input to use the I25 as an audio output device for your computer. For more information see Playing music from a drive or music server.

    Streaming

    You can stream music wirelessly to the I25 from a mobile phone, tablet, computer, or other Prisma product via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or via a wired Ethernet connection. For more information see Streaming music from a phone, tablet, or PC.

    4 Connect the antennae and Ethernet cable

    • Connect the two antennae supplied with the I25 Prisma to the ANT 1 and ANT 2 sockets on the back panel, and position the two antennae at a slight angle from the vertical. The antennas are used for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
    • For best results we recommend connecting the I25 Prisma to the network using an Ethernet cable. Connect the cable between your router and one of the LAN ports on the back panel of the I25 Prisma. The other LAN port can then be used to provide network access to another device, as the I25 Prisma has a built-in network switch. (Please note, the network switch does not work while the I25 Prisma is in ECO standby.)

    5 Connect power

    • Plug one end of the mains cable supplied with the I25 into the power connector on the back panel, and connect the other end to a wall socket.

    If this cable is not suitable for your power outlets please contact your supplier for an alternative cable.

    Note: See Phase for information about getting the best sound from your I25.

    WARNING: Always disconnect the I25 from the mains power before connecting or disconnecting any cables.

    • Switch on the I25, using the switch on the back panel.

    To switch on from standby

    • Press on the front panel or remote control.

    The display shows:

    6 Connect to a network

    For best results we recommend connecting using an Ethernet network cable.

    To connect via an Ethernet cable

    • Connect an Ethernet cable between your router or switch and one of the LAN ports on the back panel of the I25.

    Using Ethernet cable connection provides immediate access to your network and the OLED display will show “LAN” in its lower right corner to indicate that a connection is established.
    If the OLED display will show “Setup mode”, make sure your Ethernet cable is connected and it has a network connection.

    To take advantage of Chromecast built-in related features and functionality – such as casting, voice control, and multi-room/multi-zone configuration and control – configuration must be done through Google Home app, with a Google account.

    • Install the free Google Home app on your mobile device.
    • Open the Google Home app and follow the instructions for setting up the I25 Prisma on your network in the Chromecast Built-in Quick Start Guide, or the brief description below.
    • Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your mobile device.
    • The Google Home app will display Set up I25 Prisma.
    • Click SET UP and follow the instructions.
    • The OLED display will show:

      and a test tone will be played and you will be prompted to select a name for your
      I25 Prisma.
      If you cannot hear the test sound you may need to increase the volume on your amplifier.
    • Enter an appropriate name.

    Once you have configured the I25 Prisma using the Google Home app the “Configure network” message in the OLED display will disappear.

    You will now be able to cast music to your I25 Prisma.

    To disconnect from the Ethernet network

    • Remove the Ethernet cable.

    Connecting via Wi-Fi

    When the I25 Prisma is ready to be set up to your Wi-Fi, the OLED display will show:


    You can connect to Wi-Fi either by using iOS AirPlay speaker setup, Prisma Android app or Google Home app.

    Please note, to take advantage of Chromecast built-in related features and functionality – such as casting, voice control, and multi-room/multi-zone configuration and control – set up and configuration must be done through Google Home, with a Google account.

    AirPlay speaker setup

    Go to the Wi-Fi menu under Settings on your iOS device. Select the Prisma model you wish to setup under “SET UP NEW AIRPLAY SPEAKER…” at the bottom of the list. Select the Wi-Fi you want your I25 Prisma to connect to and select “Next”. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete setup.

    Prisma Android app

    Open the Android Prisma app and following the instructions found at the link in the discovery page.

    Google Home app

    • Make sure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your mobile device.
    • Install the free Google Home app on your mobile device.
    • Open the Google Home app and follow the instructions for setting up the I25 Prisma on your network in the Chromecast Built-in Quick Start Guide, or the brief description below.
    • Run Google Home.

    The Google Home app will display Set up I25 Prisma.

    • Click SET UP and follow the instructions.
    • The OLED display will show:

      and a test tone will be played and you will be prompted to select a name for your
      I25 Prisma.
      If you cannot hear the test sound you may need to increase the volume on your amplifier.
    • Enter an appropriate name.
    • Select the Wi-Fi network your I25 Prisma should connect to.

      Once you have configured the I25 Prisma using the Google Home app the
      “Configure network” message in the OLED display will disappear.

      You will now be able to cast music to your I25 Prisma.

      To disconnect from the Wi-Fi network

      Either:

      • Select Wi-Fi settings for the I25 Prisma in the Google Home app.
      • Select Forget this network.

      Or:

      7 Download the Prisma app

      To view and change the I25 Prisma settings you need the Primare Prisma app, which is available for free download on iOS devices from the Apple App Store and on Android devices from the Google Play Store.

      In either case search for Primare Prisma to find the app.

       

      Printing or saving as PDF

      You can print an on-line Primare user guide from your web browser, to provide you with a permanent copy to refer to away from your computer.

      Alternatively, you can save a user guide as PDF files, to refer to when are you not connected to the internet.

      To do so, simply choose Print, or Print followed by Save as PDF, from your browser’s File menu.
