Cast 1.52 OTA and Prisma App Updates Released  

 

As of today, we have begun releasing the much-anticipated Cast 1.52 OTA update for all Prisma models, along with the associated Prisma application updates for both Android and Apple operating systems, with the expectation that all models and applications will be available by the end of this week.

While a great number of bugs have been fixed and new functionality has been added, detailed below in the release notes, the most important feature of these updates is support for Cast 1.52 providing greater control and connectivity stability for higher resolution streaming services such as Tidal HiFi and Qobuz when casting with Chromecast.

With this update we will be able to submit our final Roon software for Roon Ready certification for all Prisma models, after that we will be able to add Tidal Master file and full 24/192 kHz Qobuz playback. However, due to the uncertainty of current conditions, we are unable to confirm when we will be able to provide those updates.

Prisma Application Update Release Notes 

• Common to both Android 1.3.9.15 and iOS/iPadOS 1.3.8(1): 
  • Added option to automatically reconnect to last used Prisma device.  
  • Inactivated playback controls for sources without playback capability 
  • Added Last Used Default volume option in Audio settings 
  • Added System Reboot option in General settings

• iOS/iPadOS specific:
  • Solved a bug in QUEUE function, where adding a whole album to a queue would stop queue playback after last song in album 
  • Solved a bug where app returns wrong items when browsing folders on USB thumb drives

  • Improved connection stability, particularly with higher resolution streaming services

 

MCU Changes Common Changes for All Models 

• OLED metadata display now includes ALBUM title – both for streaming services and NAS playback 
• Added Last Used Default volume option in Audio settings 
• Added System Reboot option in General settings 
• Fixed a bug where Prisma app showed wrong MAC address in System Information

CD15 Prisma 

• Corrected a bug where RS232 Balance Left/Right commands were swapped 

CD35 Prisma 

• Corrected a bug where RS232 Balance Left/Right commands were swapped
• Corrected a bug where digital output was limited to 48 kHz sampling rate

I15 Prisma & I15 Prisma MK2 

• Fixed an issue where OLED display did not show full metadata information 

I25 Prisma 

• Fixed an issue with “Auto-sense” functionality, where input needs to be silent for one minute before input switch can be triggered by new signal. 
• Fixed an issue with volume control from apps when front panel is locked. 

I35 Prisma 

• Fixed an issue where OLED display did not update metadata when playing from USB thumb drive
• Fixed an issue where I35 did not enter auto standby after Casting
• Fixed an issue with “Auto-sense” functionality, where input needs to be silent for one minute before input switch can be triggered by new signal

NP5 Prisma & NP5 Prisma MK2 

• RS232 Link improvements 
  • SP32/SP33/SPA22/SPA23 (HDVB) models: Fixed an issue where linked device is freezing when entering standby 
  • SP32/SP33/SPA22/SPA23 models: Fixed an issue where NP5 did not sync standby status when changed from linked device front panel button. 
  • All models: When auto-OFF is disabled, linked default volume will not be sent to linked device when NP5 enters standby 
  • I22 model: Fixed an issue where I22 display showed “IR FRONT/BACK” selection when adjusting NP5 volume
• NP5 Prisma is now reporting Maximum Volume value to Roon
